I have found that a pet containment fence will keep most dog's in however if you have a winter breed say like a husky type dog you may have some trouble.I would not say it would not work but you may have to do more maintenance like thinning the hair in the receiver area on the neck and would also spend a little extra time training before letting them loose. The transmitter on my invisible fence is beeping.I have had my dog fence for about five years now and never had this problem before.
